La 3e Kamera

A new graphic novel: La 3e Kamera!

I am proud to present this new comic (or graphic novel, same thing) made with writer Cedric Apikian. (Available only in French… for now)

When History passes before our eyes: a look back at the reporters of the Third Reich

1945 in Berlin under Allied occupation. During the Second World War, more than 700 soldiers, cameras and cameras in hand, fed the Reich’s propaganda. These “Propaganda Kompanien”, German war reporters under Goebbels, used to use two official cameras. Yet some had equipped themselves with a 3rd clandestine device, escaping all control: the famous 3rd “Kamera”. This is the case of Lieutenant Frentz, mandated to follow the Führer in person! In the ruined capital, a frantic race against time begins to recover these shots. In view of the Nuremberg trial, the famous 3rd “Kamera” that documented the crimes committed by the regime will become a strategic issue for the American soldiers of the CIC (Counter Intelligence Corps)! This camera can reveal the face of SS officers but also provide irrefutable evidence of the atrocities perpetrated in the camps. But what other secrets could the Frentz camera still deliver?

After the success of La Bombe – a work translated to date into 18 languages and sold nearly 200,000 copies – Denis Rodier partners with writer Cédric Apikian for a powerful fictional story, based on historical facts. By immersing ourselves with striking realism in the hell of war, the authors return to the existence of these soldier-photographers and ask themselves: were they all allied with the cause of the regime? The album is accompanied by a detailed historical file.
