This has been a while since I published a page. This one is a bit different as it is dropped right in the middle of the story I’ve told so far.

For those who have been waiting for a new Maelstrom page, you probably have noticed there was some delay. Don’t you worry, there’s a new one slated to be published in the next few days.
In the meantime, here’s (another) reason why the rhythm has slowed downed a bit.
Huzzah! Croquis, my sketchbook going to press as I type this! After all this time and all this work, I must say that I’m real proud of the result.
This time, let’s keep it light on words and go with more videos. So, here are the videos. But wait! First…
Last page that needed to be reworked for the new version of the script. If you go back, you will see many panels being redistributed throughout the whole scene. I’d say that about 50% of it was modified of redrawn.
Another one that’s been reworked to accommodate the modifications in the scenario. Rarely in comic books, do we leave so much on the “cutting room floor“. Especially when working as a writer / artist team, once the scene is written and put down to paper by the artist, there’s not much we can afford to change. Since I do it all myself…
Let’s follow up with another page from the “old” scene. Some of you will remember it, but in a slightly different way. There I was, rewriting the scenario and realizing that I needed to change this sequence.
A page that was done a while ago. Originally, this scene was written as the beginning of the story. But then, one gets (over?) enthusiastic and starts adding stuff while waiting for the website to be ready. Is it possible that being late with the website had unforeseen advantages?
I’ll never take any credit for this but it is nice to know I’ve been part of one of the ten best eras of the Captain America comic book according to Comics Alliance. They seem to think the Operation Rebirth storyline is worth mentioning as one of the best.
