Following last year’s acclaimed ‘Faith in Worthless Things’ album, our buddies at Unsung Productions, Lee Fletcher and Markus Reuter (respectively mastering engineer and collaborator / producer of our Echosystem release, need I reiterate?) together with Lisa Fletcher, have just released a very sweet cover of the Mike Oldfield song ‘Islands’.
Is your artistic creation truly original? No, most probably not. How can it possibly be?
They say that nothing is created in a vacuum, true; it’s impossible for an artist to deny his influences. At each moment of our waking life, we are processing images and sounds being thrown at us. Social media and the “interwebs” in general are making sure we’re constantly exposed to the exponential growth of the world’s artistic production. Like it or not, that ultimately adds up big time!
Markus Reuter. One thing can be said, the guy has been busy in 2012. Here a fraction of the work he has done this past year: Markus has played more than 70 concerts. These include performances with centrozoon, Stick Men and The Crimson ProjeKct which was opening for Dream Theater on a massive North American tour.
Now, Specimen13 really starts the year with a bang.
After so many eventful weeks and some nice reviews of the Echosystem EP (HERE’s one in german), it’s now time to tell you about the first Specimen13 Metal Box. It has been available for a little while now, but we never got around talking about it in this blog.
Lee Fletcher, musician, record producer, arranger, songwriter, mix engineer and the mastering maestro behind our Echosystem release, was presented with the ‘Best Producer 2012’ award at the second annual South West Music Awards. Furthermore he is known for creating (predominantly music-related) film & video, such as the OLDER THAN GOD project. It’s about time we learn more about the guy.
