As I said before about the previous page, I was thinking of a larger layout that could combine page 3 and 4 into a vertical format. Here’s the bottom part of the design; we’re inside the house with the tree growing in the middle.
Here are the first layout ideas jotted down quickly in very small size. There’s a reason they call these “thumbnail” sketches.
Here’s the original sketch in blue pencil (letter size).
The main difficulty in inking something like this is to make the the bushes and thin tree branches stand out in front of a dark background. Not seen on the video shown below is the extra time spent at using white to make them pop out. I came back fix this after the video was finished.
